The Factions discussed the draft state budget 2021 introduced by the Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze.
The reporter informed MPs about the main directions and dwelt on the scheduled changes, forecasts etc. The budget for 2021 is planned with 5% economic growth, he stated and the expenditure part in total constitutes 71 bl. GEL, which exceeds the 2020 specified plan with about 1 bl. 150 ml GEL. The deficit in regards to GDP increased with 2-2.5%, the tax incomes to the mixed budget are planned with 12.2 bl. GEL, which is a higher index, though the initial plan developed in 2020 was less with 100 ml GEL.
The reporter answered the critical questions about the draft. MPs stated that the costs are distributed in an inadequate manner and dwelt on the extra funds for the State Security Service, gas supply problem in a rural area, unaccomplished infrastructural projects etc.
The questions mainly were concerning the economic growth forecast index, foreign debt, GEL fluctuation, inflation rate, increased deficit, critical reduction of the employees in the state and private sectors etc.
“Our task was to once again demonstrate that even in the election year, the Georgian Dream can promise nothing to the population or offer the solution for the crisis, they bring zero changes”, - the presiding of the sitting, member of the Faction “European Georgia – Movement for Freedom”, David Bakradze stated. The Factions rejected the draft.
