Irakli Mekvabishvili elected as the Auditor General

MPs, with 80 votes elected Irakli Mekvabishvili as the Auditor General at the plenary session.

Prior, the Speaker introduced the biographic data of the candidate and noted that the candidate has a rich experience in financial institutions, including the National Bank and EBRD. 

Mr. Mekvabishvili has a rich biography. He has many years of experience in the financial institutions, including private and public sectors, as well as international organizations. During years, he was the high rank official of the National Bank and occupied the position in private sector. He was the Associate Director of EBRD”.

The candidate meets all the requirements for the position.

“The Auditor General shall have the characteristics such are high qualification, impartiality, honesty and all these features are attributed to Mr. Mekvabishvili. Hence, I would like to proudly nominate the candidacy of Irakli Mekvabishvili to the position of the Auditor General”.

MPs approved the candidate with 80 votes.
