During the meeting, Eka Beselia dwelt on the legislative activities and the ongoing political processes in the country, including the judicial reform and selection of judges for the Supreme Court.
The MP also harped on the domestic and foreign policy, after which the meeting resumed with interactions majorly around the interviewing process of the Supreme Court judges.
The students inquired about Georgia's EU integration, Russian-Georgian relations, situation in the occupied territories, human rights, and recent developments in the Patriarchate.
“This country is in need of educated, mighty generation. You have a unique age to realize your potential for which you need a good guide to lead you in the right direction. We find our role in helping the new generation, showing them that they have to fight for freedom, that we must struggle for our own and others' rights. You need to be scrupulous putting the public interest above the personal one. This is a difficult task, though necessary”, - the MP addressed to the youth.
At the end of the meeting, Eka Beselia wished the youth success and confirmed her commitment for cooperation with the Students’ Parliament.
“We have already held our fourth meeting with the Students’ Parliament. This is a great opportunity to exchange each other’s’ views. Students' critical attitude towards current processes is evident. Most questions were asked about the process of selecting judges because this process is about their future. They should be both active and responsible for the consequences that might result from this process being mismanaged”, - Eka Beselia commented following the meeting.
