The Training Center of the Parliament has held the training for the Staff on non-custody enforcement and probation issues.
The Deputy Head of Tbilisi Probation Bureau, trainer of the Probation Training Center, Khatuna Tsitsava spoke about the objectives of the National Probation Agency, its structures, functions and services, as well as enforcement of cases, rehabilitation of the convicted, diversion of juveniles, video rendezvous and home arrest.
The Secretary General of the Parliament, Givi Mikanadze delivered the welcome speech and spoke about importance of this training and the purpose of the training center of the Parliament. “In June, we set for cooperation with the educational units of various state agencies. We have the chance to obtain respective knowledge about the routine challenges and problems of certain spheres from the practitioner trainers. I believe that it will be mutually beneficial as the Staff of the Parliament sees practical implementation of the laws adopted. On the other hand, the Staff gets in deeper knowledge of the problems these agencies encounter in regards with implementation of hereof law”.
According to him, cooperation with various educational units implies perception of certain problems, their in-depth analysis and development of new legislative initiatives.
Mr. Mikanadze spoke about the topic of the training – non-custody enforcement and probation. “It is a very interesting sphere. Recently, Georgia has managed to take this system to the European level and hence, to establish the standards allowing Georgia becoming the full-fledged member of European Probation Confederation. This training will be dedicated to the directions of development of this sphere, ongoing reforms and scheduled novelties from the trainer of the Probation Training Center along with other interesting information”, - he stated.
