The Thematic Inquiry Group on Civic Engagement Instruments and Practices at the Permanent Parliamentary Open Governance Council heard the Deputy IDPs Minister, Tamar Gabunia.
“Our Ministry holds vast experience of engagement of the civil society and other parties concerned in the process of monitoring development and establishment of the policy. There are the directions better organized and structured, and there are the directions with lack of civic engagement. The standard mechanism we apply is the councils. There are 15 councils only in healthcare part. The councils in various directions have been especially targeted for development of the strategic plans, attraction of civil sector and other professional associations and receive formal feedback of their opinion”.
According to the Chair of the Council, Irine Pruidze, the Thematic Group will conclude the report and issue the recommendations for higher stability and productivity of civic engagement in state institutions.
