Members of the Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council of the Parliament of Georgia - Irina Pruidze, Guguli Maghradze and Giorgi Khatidze held a meeting with the delegation of the Parliament of Sierra Leone today.
The guests were particularly interested in the issues related with the parliamentary openness, transparency and public engagement. The sides discussed the experience of the Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council, and the issues of civil society. Georgian MPs harped on the future action plans and key instruments that have been created in the Parliament over the past few years ensuring parliamentary openness and transparency.
Representatives of the Sierra Leone Parliamentary Delegation were also concerned with the Code of Ethics of MPs and the work embarked by the Ethics Council. As they noted, the experience of their Georgian colleagues would be shared and introduce into their Parliament.
The Sierra Leone Parliamentary Delegation is serving the visit in Georgia within the framework of the Westminster Foundation project.
