The Chair, Sofo Kiladze and Committee members met with the Public Defender, Nino Lomjaria to discuss the cooperation and future plans.
“We strive to ensure close cooperation with the Office of the Public Defender to increase human rights protection quality. So, we are here today to plan our cooperation. I believe that the Public Defender shares our attitude. We shall not oppose but cooperate and this function is especially imposed to our Committee”, - the Chair stated.
According to the PD, the Committee is the primary reference Committee for the PD Office. “This is the first meeting with the Committee. We will discuss various issues, including our cooperation and future plans”, - she stated.
According to her, the PD report shall be submitted to the Parliament in March and February shall be dedicated to consideration of implementation of the previous recommendations.
“In February, we will hear the respective agencies about the stage of implementation of recommendations reflected in the PD report”, - N. Lomjaria stated.
