The Education, Science and Culture and the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committees considered sundry initiatives related to culture.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Education Minister, Levan Kharatishvili; Deputy Regional Minister, Ilia Begiashvili; Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi, Sophio Kuntsaria; Director of the National Tourism Agency, Giorgi Chogovadze; Director of the National Agency for Preservation of Cultural Heritage; Nikoloz Antadze, representatives of the National Library, and the Secretary General of the Parliament, Givi Mikanadze.
According to the Education Committee Chair, Mariam Jashi, education and culture spheres entail necessity of inter-sector approaches, hence the intermittent works will facilitate to improvement of coordination and development of the certain legislative initiatives.
The Committees discussed the measures aimed at protection of cultural heritage monuments, as well as the changes in terms of method recommendations and library management. “Each change for education and culture under the decentralization requires close cooperation between the Infrastructure Ministry and municipalities. We hold on the meetings. In November, along with the Chair of the Regional Policy, Zaza Gabunia we will have represent the initiative at the municipal forum to better protect reliability of information about our cultural heritage monuments”, - M. Jashi noted.
The Method Center for Libraries will be established.
“It will be the National Library as I presume. We will also sum up the action plans for universal adaptation of museums, theatres and libraries for the persons with disabilities. We shall at maximal extent facilitate to inclusion in culture. It requires not only infrastructural arrangement but pragmatic adaptation for the persons with disabilities”.
Three initiatives will be accomplished within the year.
