The Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili and the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Tamar Khulordava met with the representatives of the EU aid instrument – TAIEX to discuss visa liberalization implementation, respective changes in Georgian legislation and future cooperation.
According to A. Okhanashvili, the consultations are on constant basis held with the EU experts.
“It is principal to maintain visa free travel for our citizens. We hold preventive consultations on constant basis with the EU experts in view to eliminate all questions. We strive to keep the dialogue process to further improve our legislation. Hence, today we do not consider suspension of visa free regime”.
T. Khulordava emphasized importance of consultations with European partners.
“Our citizens enjoy the visa free travel for 2 years, which is a good new opportunity for our citizens for approximation to Europe. Naturally, we take care of this achievement and constantly speak with our European partners about implementation of visa liberalization process and the further steps to be made to maintain the visa free regime. Today, we discussed these issues and summed up the changes recently adopted by the Parliament to prevent any problem in terms of visa liberalization”, - she noted.
