The Committee discussed for accelerated consideration and with the I reading the bill on State Inspector Service.
The Chair, Anri Okhanashvili spoke about extension of effective date and noted that the Legal Committee, Parliament and the State Inspector are interested in full-fledged enactment of the law.
Efficiency of the SIS activity requires maintenance of the premise for investigation department. It entailed necessity to extend effective date with 4 months.
The Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze spoke about the allocations for rehabilitation works of the SIS premise. After consulting the Inspector, the approximate schedule has been developed to be further specified in July.
2-2.5 ml GEL will be allocated from the Reserve Fund at the first stage. As to allocations for salaries of the personnel, the Ministry will have the specified information in September. The representative of the Public Defender Office, Tatuli Todua expressed opinion about the bill that the PD does not in general hails extension of the effective date, though the fact that the Committee engaged the Deputy Finance Minister to hear the financial securement information indicates to high responsibility of the Committee.
The Committee approved the bill with the I reading.
According to the Chair, the Committee will monitor allocation of funds by the state.
