The Chair of Foreign Relations Committee, Irakli Beraia held the video-meeting with the UK Ambassador to Georgia, Justin McKenzie Smith to discuss the current situation in Georgia from an epidemiological point of view, and the measures assumed in this regard.

Particular attention was given to the grave humanitarian and human rights situation in the occupied regions of Georgia.

The parties harped on Russia's illegal actions, tightening illegal restrictions, illegal "borderization", misinformation and propaganda, which the occupier continuously does amid the global challenges.

The Chairman of the Committee and the British Diplomat attached great importance to the relations between Georgia and the UK, including the parliamentary relations, and noted of the importance of further deepening cooperation between the two countries.

Issues related to the 2020 Parliamentary Elections were also dwelt on at the meeting.
