Remote Meeting of Irakli Beraia with CoE Office Director in Georgia, Cristian Urse

The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Irakli Beraia held the video-meeting with the CoE Office Director in Georgia, Cristian Urse to discuss the current situation in Georgia from an epidemiological point of view, the measures assumed in response and the Government's anti-crisis plan.

Christian Urse highly estimated the measures taken by the Georgian authorities in response to the COVID-19.

The parties also discussed the areas of cooperation between Georgia and the CoE, including the Consolidated Report of the CoE Secretary General - "Conflicts in Georgia".

I. Beraia stressed the difficult security and humanitarian situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, Russia's illegal actions and noted of the need to increase pressure on Russia from the international community.

Issues related to the 2020 Parliamentary Elections were also dwelt on at the meeting.
