"Gender Dimersions of the Financial Policy of Georgia"

The publication refers to gender aspects of financial policy of Georgia, methodology of analysis, gender trends and development issues in the fields of healthcare, education and labor market in Georgia, and the ways of their financial resolution at both national and local levels. The publication also reflects international experience and gives recommendations, which might be of interest for the representatives of civil society, as well as national and local authorities.

 

Gender and Society: Georgia

 

This report attempts to draw a general picture of the situation in Georgia, from a gender perspective. It discusses gender issues in public and private lives separately, and addresses gender differences in human and social capital as well. As gender is considered to be culturally constructed, the gender issues among ethnic minorities, Armenian and Azeri communities are reviewed. The long-term impact on the lives of displaced women and men due to Abkhazian conflict is also examined. Field work was carried out in September-November 2007.

This book is the collection of international normative instruments concerning the women’s rights and gender equality. The book is intended to expose the reader to a wide range of international norms regulating the women’s rights protection.


 

Women and Men in Georgia, Statistical Booklet, Tbilisi 2008

‘Women and Men in Georgia’ is the fifth statistical publication on gender issues.  Compared to the previous ones, is closer to the world statistical standards. The booklet has been enriched by valuable data such as data on domestic violence and the trafficking. The data is based on the surveys conducted by the Department for Statistics and other administrative sources.

 

Constitutional Aspects of Gender Equality


Publication provides the reader with the information on the status of gender equality in other countries, the extent of activity of women holding the political positions and how the effective equality of men and women in foreign countries is supported at the legislative level.

 

 

 


 

 

Sociological survey report 2007 for defining best gender balanced organizations in Georgia

Survey was conducted among 211 business companies, 11 ministries and local self government.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Report on the Sociological Study – Gender Analysis of Self-government unit’s budgets
Sociological study is aiming at demonstration gender approaches, revelation of the requirements of the society’s gender layers (female, make) and determination of the main problems that have to do with the municipal administration sphere.

Survey aimed to identify the community awareness with regards to the local elections and determining public attitudes towards the women’s increased role in self-governance.
