"Psychosocial assistance for the affected population in the August events in 2008 has begun the moment the war was over. That was the first case in Georgia, when Parliament, Government and NG sector worked out the joint plan for psycho-rehabilitation of people affected by war”.
In 2008, the pardon and the amnesty process were performed gradually and totally, amnesty concerned to 3524 convicts and the pardon – to 2804 convicts. The most large-scale pardon was implemented in December 17, 2008. In result, 1280 convicts left the prison.
According to Zurab Melikishvili, Chairman of Finance and Budget Committee, last autumn session was quit productive and loaded. Despite hard economical and political period, the parliament could find the ways out of the situation. The legislators have worked out the anti-crisis plan.

David Bakradze, Chairman of Parliament of Georgia raised the initiative on setting up the work group for the purpose to improve Election Code. He made a statement on that at the briefing. According to him, work group will consolidate as Parliamentary Majority, as the representatives of Parliamentary Opposition.
