Today, Committees on Finance and Budget and Field Economy and Economic Policy held sitting in Marneuli region and then they inspected the ongoing working process of "Project of the Village” and the infrastructural projects.  

Committees have discussed "Code of Imprisonment” with the first hearing. The aim of the project is: improving the administrations in the imprisonment sphere, protect and regulate the rights of accused persons being imprisoned before trial and condemned persons, the social guarantees regulation and supporting re-socialization of the condemned. 

According to the Code: the number of the persons, who have appointments with the convicts will increase, the rights of the public defender’s supervision in the penitentiary system will increase as well; commission on before conditional term releasing issues will be formed with a new format, which will have the regional councils. Regional councils will consist of the public representatives and will have a right to discuss the demand of the condemned persons on releasing them before the term. Code of Imprisonment considers the short holidays for the convicts. The pregnant women, mothers having the under age children and minors will have a right to use a holiday three times a week for 5 days. MPs supported the project.

According to Lasha Tordia, Chairman of Finance and Budget Committee, the amendments will be made to the law on "Public Registry”, according to which, the price of the property rights recognition on the agricultural plot, except for Tbilisi and Batumi will be 50 laris instead of 300 laris. Committees supported the presented bill with the first hearing.

Today, at the sitting, the bill on amendments to the Georgian law on "National Archival Fund and National Archive” was discussed. According to the bill, the National Archive will work with electronic system, so all documents kept in the archive will be scanned and activated. 

MPs have discussed the bill on "Notary” with the first hearing. According to the bill, the electron system of the notaries will be established. The electron base will be set up, that gives opportunity to become all information public. Also, the rule of probationers hiring will be established and it will be compensated.

After the sitting, MPs inspected the ongoing working process of "Project of the Village” and the infrastructural projects in Marneuli region and talked with the local population on the actual questions for them. Particularly, they inspected the water project and the road construction project in the next villages of Marneuli. After implementing the project of water, in one of the villages the 30 year problem of water supply will be solved.

It is important for us to know the actual questions for our population for discussing them at the plenary sessions”, - stated Zurab Melikishvili, Chairman of Finance and Budget Committee.
