The Deputy-Chairman of the Parliament, Giorgi Tsereteli met with the Deputy Ambassador of the USA, Bridget Brinks. The main topic of the conversation was the urgent issues for Georgia, the ongoing political reforms, preparation for the elections, sundry draft laws, consideration of which will start in the spring. The particular emphasis was made on the draft law "On Nuclear and Radiation Safety”.
The parties spoke about the course of the draft law and noted that the effective implementation of the international standards is the initiative of USA and the President of USA, in order to maximally protect the population from the impact of nuclear and radiation wastes. America provides the technical assistance to the Government of Georgia in preparation of similar regulations. Georgia is already the participant of this international process and correspondingly, the Parliament will adopt the law "On Nuclear and Radiation Safety”. |
