The summary meeting of the informative session by the members of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration

The Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, Mrs. Eka Beselia and the Committee members met with the working group on the judiciary reforms support, including 

Climentina Barbaro.

The meetings of the Committee are held in Strasbourg with invitation by CoE. At the meetings, Eka Beselia in details spoke about the priorities of the Parliament, the election laws, necessity to onset judiciary reforms and political prisoners and utmost importance of the law on Amnesty. She also attached her attention to the wrong and impartial information on attitude of the Prime Minister towards the broadcasting.

According to her, the greatest desire of Bidzina Ivanishvili is to have free media in Georgia. The MP, Otar Chrdileli spoke about the Public Broadcaster. According to him, the provision in the Resolution was wrong about the pressure on media. He also attached his attention on the property, alienated by the President for 1 GEL and named it as the evident example of corruption. 

After the session and upon summary, the Committee members thanked the host party for interesting and important meetings. The Chairperson of the Committee spoke about the ongoing transitional stage in Georgia. She introduced the values, which are characteristic for Georgia people. “We know where the edge is not to cross it, we exactly know what to do. Our greatest desire is to give Georgian citizens the feeling of justice. Our aim is to build the better future together”, - she stated. 

At the summary meeting of the CoE, according to the elucidation by the Secretary General of PACE, Voetsek Savitsky, it is a wrong idea that CoE supports any particular political party. “We are for the team and the Government, which is elected by Georgian people in democratic way. We, if necessary, praise the Government and criticize it as well”, - he stated.
