The Committee considered the draft law on “Agricultural Cooperatives”. The draft provides guarantees for employment and establishment of agricultural cooperatives. It prescribes improvement and simplification of the taxes and preferences, land registration and enterprise register issues, which provide creation of the land market and enlargement of the small economies. The draft law also envisages simplification of accessibility to the cheap loans by the stated. The aim of the legislative initiative is to support establishment of the agricultural cooperatives, thus development of production of agricultural products and increase of competitiveness thereof.

The participants of the working meeting were the Committee members, the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, experts, farmers and the representatives of various organizations. They expressed their remarks and recommendations. “Our strategy is to make the draft law the subject of wider consensus. It shall include the mechanisms, which will promote the process of cooperation in the country”, - the Chairman of the Committee, Gigla Agulashvili stated. According to him, the meetings concerning this draft law will be held further.
