The Committee on European Integration discussed the draft law “On Protection of Consumers’ Rights”

For the purpose to regulate the consumer sphere, the draft law “On protection of Consumers’ Rights” is planned to be initiated. With the initiative of the Committee, the working group was established, which will develop the text of the draft law.
Today, the Chairman of the Committee, Victor Dolidze met with the members of the working group in Courtyard Marriot Hotel. The group is composed of the representatives of the Executive, MPs, experts and NGOs.
Besides regulation of the consumer sphere, the draft law will be brought into correspondence with the EU practice, which will be the utmost important activity per se within harmonization and European integration processes.
The representative of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung to Caucasus, Mr. Michael WEICHERT, also participated in the meeting, who supports the activity of the working group and supposes that it is important to have somebody, protecting the rights of consumers in the European integration process.
The form and content of the working agenda of the working group and the directions of activity were defined at the meeting.
