The Committee considered the agreements, introduced by the President for ratification “On Military Financial Cooperation between the Government of Georgia and the Government of Turkey” and “On Financial Aid between the Government of Georgia and the Government of Turkey”. According to the agreements, Turkey will allocate USD equivalent of 900 000 Turkish Lira to Georgia in capacity of financial resource. This amount will be consumed on military production and service purchase and modernization of Marneuli Airport project. The Committee supported the Agreement to be submitted to the plenary session.
The daily agenda also included the initiative of the President on Change to the Law “On State Compensation and State Academic Scholarship”. According to the Chair of the Committee, Irakli SESIASHVILI, the Committee received the statement of the Government of Georgia, stating that “the said draft law is introduced with violation of the requirements of the Article 67 of the Constitution of Georgia, inasmuch as the President has the right of legislative initiatives in particular events solely. In this event, there is no argument about the particularity of this initiative”. At that, Mr. SESIASHVILI noted that the similar draft law has been already initiated by the Government, which was considered with the first reading. Correspondingly, the Committee voted for the draft law, initiated by the President and adopted the negative position.
