The Constitutional changes were considered at the meeting of the members of the Parliamentary majority with the professor of Ohio University, Mr. Howard Fenton.

The Constitutional change, envisaging restriction of authority of the President, will be raised for ballot in the end of March.

“We continue the consultations regarding the ongoing and the planned Constitutional changes with the European and American Constitutionalists. We introduced our plans to the American expert – what we plan and how. Their opinion and conclusions concerning any specific projects are interesting for us” – the Chair of the Legal Committee stated.

The attendants were the First Vice-Speaker, Manana Kobakhidze and MPs, Eka Beselia, Vakhtang Khmaladze and Irakli Chikovani. Mr. Fenton will hold the meeting with the NGOs and media representatives tomorrow.
