The Committee considered with the first reading the package of drafts by the National Movement – “On Change to the Law On Higher Education”, “On Change to the Law On State Purchases” and “On Change to the Tax Code”.

The general provisions were introduced by the Member of Faction “National Movement”, Sergo RATIANI. According to him, the draft prescribes granting more autonomy to the non-profit legal entity – higher educational institution, usage of simplified rule of purchase, exemption from profit tax.
As the Chair of the Committee, David ONOPRISHVILI stated, there are the number of issues, which need to be improved.
All in all, the Committee members agreed not to vote for the drafts today.
As to the drafts by the President: “On Change to the Organic Law On Public Defender”, “On Change Legalization of Amnesty and Non-declared Tax Liabilities and Property”, “On Change to the Criminal Code”, “On Change to the Criminal Code of Practice”, “On Change to the Tax Code”, “On Change to the Administrative Code of Practice” and “On Change to the Law On Control of the Enterprise Activity”, the Committee will consider thereof at the joint sitting with the Committee on Sector Economy and Economic Policy.
