The discussion was held on freedom of information, prescribed under the General Administrative Code.

Mr. FENTON heard the representatives of Georgian NGOs. As it was noted, there are general problems concerning issue of public information and it is necessary to conduct the reform on the legislative level. NGOs expressed the opinion as on FOIA, so on improvement of the Code as well. Civil sector also criticized the court practice, according to which, most of the disputes on issue of public information ended in favor of the administrative agencies.
After the round table, Mr. FENTON thanked the NGOs for detailed information and qualified opinions.
