The Committees considered the draft by the Faction “National Movement”: “On Change to the Law On Higher Education” deriving drafts.

The issue was introduced by Sergo RATIANI, according to whom the universities shall obtain more autonomy. According to the draft, the authority to appoint and dismiss the Administration Heads from the Regent Board shall be conveyed to the university, namely the collective body thereof. The Committees supported with the first reading the draft, though it was noted that inasmuch as it concerns the educational sphere, the position of the Ministry of Education and Science would be interesting.

The Committees considered with the second reading the draft “On Change to the Law On State Property”. According to the reporter, the Chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance, David ONOPRISHVILI, this document is the version, communicated with the relevant Ministry.

The Parliament will consider these issues at the plenary session.
