The Committee considered with the second reading the draft Constitutional law “On Change to the Constitution of Georgia”. The legislative initiative of 78 MPs was introduced by the Chair of the Committee, Vakhtang Khmaladze. As he noted, no remarks were expressed on the plenary session yesterday. All in all, the Committee members from majority and minority, supported submission of the draft law to the plenary session.

The mentioned draft serves for elucidation of the existing shortcoming in the legislation, concerning the violation of the checks and balances principle. This draft enables establishment of the Constitutional mechanism, which provides the Government, having the support by the Parliament.
