The term for final decision by the Constitutional Court on Constitutional appeal or submission shall not exceed 30 calendar days, otherwise the decision will be declared void. This is the changed, subject to introduction to the Organic Law on Constitutional Court of Georgia.

According to the Chair of the Legal Committee, this draft shall be considered in accelerated manner. This proposal was considered as inexpedient by minority MP, Pavle Kublashvili. According to him, the term of consideration may be reduced to 6 but not 1 month. According to the Chair of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, 45 days are pretty enough for relevant decision on violation of human rights. “If the decision on such an important issue, as Constitutionality of the regulatory norms of the Presidential Elections, is possible to be made in 12 days, then why 45 days are not enough for other norms” – she stated. The majority of the Committee members consider that the draft is ready to be considered at the plenary session. |
