The Parliament is ready to hear the concrete proposals on legislation on illegal bugging. This was the statement, made by the Speaker at the Conference in Radisson Blu Hotel.

According to D. Usupashvili, the Parliament is ready to share the proposals to improve the current legislation, as there is much to correct. “The Parliament is ready to share the proposals about the changes to the relevant legal acts. There is much to do on the Executive level. We have the vacant position of the personal data protection inspector and we need to improve the legislation to allow this institution have access to efficiency of monitoring on illegal bugging”, - he noted. The Conference “Civil oversight for suppression of illegal bugging” was held with the initiative of the civil society national platform and media representatives, which aims at consideration of elaboration of the effective mechanisms for civil and Parliamentary oversight in order to destroy the data, obtained by the preceding Government via illegal bugging and prevention of similar acts in the future. The attendees were the representatives of the Executive and Legislative powers, international organizations and diplomatic corps.
