We will soon have a high quality public broadcasting, the guarantee of which is the change to the law on Broadcasting, considered by the Committee with the first reading. The draft was introduced by Eliso Chapidze and Murman Dumbadze. Upon speaking about the general principles, E. Chapidze introduced the changes, based on recommendations by NGOs.
The Chair of the Committee, Irine Imerlishvili introduced the remarks of technical character. Taking them into account, the Committee submitted submission of the draft to the plenary session. The Committee considered the initiative by the National Movement, the changes to the Rules of Procedure, introduced by Khatuna Gogorishvili. The changes aim at allowing the Factions in the majority and minority to concede the speech term at the sessions to other Factions. The majority does not agree with the changes. As I. Imerlishvili evaluated, it will be discriminative towards the Factions, which are not included either in majority or in minority.
Finally, the Committee did not support the draft.
