The Committee discussed the draft, returned by the President with the remarks – the drafts on changes to the Criminal Code of Practice, Organic law on General Courts, Law on Disciplinary Responsibility and Disciplinary Jurisprudence of the General Court Judges, Law on Supreme School of Justice and Criminal Code of Practice, submitted to the President on April 5, 2013 for signing. The remarks were introduced by the Parliamentary Secretary of the President, Dimitri Dzagnidze. The majority do not support the Presidential remarks. The Chair of the Committee, Vakhtang Khmaladze stated that the mechanisms of the judiciary independence will be weakened if the Parliament supports these remarks. The conclusion of the Committee will be submitted to the Bureau and the Parliament will discuss to override the Presidential veto. |
