Parliamentary Strengthening Program-PSP (NDI)

dasd3National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) launched its three year Parliamentary Strengthening Program in September 2006. This program is supported by U.S. Government through United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

Program activities for 2006-2009 will strengthen the parliament of Georgia become more representative and more effective in its legislative and outreach capacities.  The assistance will:

 

  • Develop the structure and operation of parliamentary factions to support issue-based communication and legislative development;
  • Promote parliamentary committee outreach and support multi-party discussion and debate on reform policy and legislation;
  • Improve the legislative research and policy development capacity of targeted parliamentary bodies;
  • Develop targeted campaign and the political organizing skills of emerging women leaders.
