The Committee considered the draft on change to the law on Narcotic Means, Psychotropic Agents, Precursors and Narcological Aid. According to the initiator, Tamaz Avdaliani, so-called spices have been spread in Georgia. According to the law, they are prohibited to be sold though consumption is not criminalized. According to T. Avdaliani, upon elaborating this draft, he has held the consultations with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Narcologic Service. According to the Chair, Koba Davitashvili, the draft shall not be considered in accelerated manner as the issue is of utmost importance. According to him, there are two anti-narcotic policy council and special working group. “The experts shall be involved in consideration. I suppose that the issue shall be considered in the complex manner”, - he stated. According to T. Avdaliani, deriving from urgency of the issue, the draft shall be considered in accelerated manner as there are 8 spices in Georgia already and the number is increasing. The Committee voted and gave the positive opinion.
