The Parliament overrode the Presidential veto on four drafts. Three of them: “Change to the Law On Broadcasting”, “On Change to the Organic law On Election Code” and “On Change to the Organic law on Public Defender” was included in one package. The MPs did not share the motivated remarks by the President and supported the initial edition. Each draft was supported by 94 MPs and 9 voted against. The President had 4 remarks on draft on Broadcasting: termination of authority of the member of board of trustees ahead of time; vote of no confidence to the board of trustees; additional obligations concerning the information for submission to the Commission by the PB and termination of authority of the board of trustees ahead of time. The fourth draft was on change to the law on Electricity and Natural Gas. 94 MPs supported the initial edition and 9 voted against. The President did not sign the changes, on the basis of which authority of appointment/dismissal of the Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission shall be delegated to the PM – the PM is authorized to appoint one of the members as the Chair of the Commission. 

The MPs passed with the second reading with 90 votes for and 8 against, the draft on change to the law on Higher Education, envisaging addition of the academic position of the assistant to the structure of the academic personnel. There were remarks by the minority to the draft, though the topic for criticism was the article, envisaging appointment of the acting Rector by the PM. The First Deputy-Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Sanikidze introduced the new edition of this article, according to which, “in the event of termination of the authority of the Rector ahead of time, the acting Rector shall be elected by the Electoral Board”.
The MPs passed with the third reading with 96 votes for and 3 against, the draft on Agricultural Cooperatives, regulating gaining, termination, monitoring of status, preferences and activity thereof.
The MPs passed with the first reading with 94 votes for and 1 against, the draft on change to the law on Status of Military Serviceman, defining single monetary aid for the families of deceased in the amount of 100 000 GEL.
The MPs passed with the first reading with 96 votes for and 1 against, the draft on change to the law on State Compensation and State Academic Scholarship, defining state compensation terms and rules for the families of deceased.
The MPs passed with the first reading with 98 votes, the draft on change to the law on Social Aid for the Families of Deceased in the Fight of Territorial Integrity and Freedom of the Country, envisaging state compensation for the families of deceased.
The MPs also considered and voted for up to 20 issues.
