The Committee considered the drafts by the Government on changes to the law on International Cooperation in the Sphere of Law-Enforcement Sphere and on Diplomatic Service, introduced by the Head of the Legal Department of the Interior Ministry, Zviad Okropiridze. According to him, the aim of the first draft is to provide effective international cooperation to prevent, detect and suppress crime. As to the second draft, it envisages granting diplomatic immunity to the representatives of the Interior Ministry, Police/Security Attache and Communication Officer, subject to be appointed by the Interior Minister in agreement with the Foreign Minister. “These persons and the staff thereof shall be granted the categories relevant to the senior and junior diplomatic positions and diplomatic status and guarantees”, - he stated. The Committee considered the draft by Guguli Magradze on change to the law on Suppression of Domestic Violence, Protection and Help to the Victim of Domestic Violence.
