The Committees on Sector Economics and Economic Policy, on Agrarian Issues, on Budget and Finance and on Regional Policy and Self Government considered the changes to the law on Reimbursement of Cost of Mastering the Substitute Land for the Agricultural allocated in Non-agricultural Purpose and Damage. The draft by Zurab Tkemaladze and Gigla Agulashvili envisages alteration of purpose for agricultural lands till December 31, 2014 shall be permitted deriving from the state and social needs. As it was elucidated, the reason for adoption is the change to the law on Agricultural Land Property, on the basis of which the legislative norm has been sustained till December 31, 2014, envisaging entitlement of a foreign citizen, legal entity registered abroad or legal entity registered in Georgia by foreign citizen on property of agricultural land. After the changes, the threat has emerged on machination of the lands. It was noted that the objective of the draft is to temporarily restrict alienation of agricultural lands.
