The Group discussed the regulatory norms of media activity during pre-election campaigning at the sitting, held in Public Service Hall in Tbilisi. The Group members suppose that in order to create free environment necessary for elections, it is important to abolish the norms, restricting media activity, being endorsed by CEC – definition of some electoral procedures, provided in the CEC resolution of 2012, establishing restrictions for media representatives in voting premise. “Our task is to hold fair elections, which is impossible with unfair media. We think that severe and senseless regulations, impeding media activity, shall be abolished”, - the Group Head, the Chair of Faction Georgian Dream, Zakaria Kutsnashvili stated. The group also considered the draft on change to the organic law on Election Code. According to the technical change, the mobile ballot box shall not be functioning in DEC abroad. The sitting was attended by non-parliamentary party and NGO representatives, also the newly elected Chair of CEC, Tamar Zhvania.
