The photo-exhibition “Georgian Democracy”, dedicated to the International Day of Democracy was open in the National Library of the Parliament by the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili, and was organized by the PR Department. The exhibition represents the works by as old, so new 12 photo-reporters. 28 works echo the events occurred in Tbilisi in the end of XX and the beginning of XXI centuries, reminding us the importance of democracy for statehood and grave outcomes of ignoring democracy. “Everyone must hear the voice of democracy. Any violence is unacceptable. Human rights violation will not be tolerated”, - this is the script under one of the photos of the reporter, Giorgi Abdaladze, which is warning for the future generations. September 15 was declared as the International Day of Democracy by UN in 2007 and called upon the states, Governmental and non-governmental organizations to traditionally celebrate this day. Thus, this day is celebrated in various countries since 2008. |
