The Speaker of the Parliament, David Usupashvili met with the OSCE PA President, the Speaker of Montenegro Parliament, Ranko Krivokapic. At the briefing, D. Usupashvili congratulated Mr. Krivokpic with appointment on this important position. As he stated, OSCE PA mission is in Georgia due to upcoming Presidential. He thanked the guests for OSCE activity during the Parliamentary and noted that OSCE mission will contribute particular mite in fair elections. “We all know how huge is OSCE role in fair, European standard elections. I thank my colleagues for productive activity during the last year Parliamentary. I expressed my content that this year, OSCE echoed the appeal of our Foreign Ministry in terms of upcoming Presidential. These elections will be held with their qualified observing”, - he stated. One of the mains topic of the meeting was full-fledged restoration of OSCE mission. As the Speaker stated, OSCE mandate is not limited with support of democracy, it as well concerns security issues. According to him, OSCE gave the totally adequate evaluation to 2008 August war. “All OSCE member states, except Russia, recognize that Georgian territories are occupied. This is the clear position of the Organization. At that, the factor of that only country is impediment that OSCE mission fails its full-fledged mission in Georgia”, - he stated. “We have spoken about the possibilities on the Parliamentary level to find the way for OSCE mission to be restored in Georgia, which is important for security of Georgian people and the country”, - he added. According to him, the parties also spoke about the bilateral relations between Georgia and Montenegro. “Montenegro and Georgia are intact on the way to NATO and EU. In this direction, bilateral relation and the Parliamentary cooperation will further be enhanced”, - he stated. OSCE PA supports restoration of the MM in Georgia not only on the political level but supposes that the finances will be necessarily allocated. This statement was made in response to the question to OSCE PA President, concerning restoration of OSCE PA mission in terms of occupied territories. As he stated, the resolution is adopted in Monaco, providing that restoration of the mission in Georgia is necessary. According to him, it was reiterated at Committee sitting in Istanbul Assembly that restoration is necessary. As he noted, OSCE PA assumes particular responsibility in enhancement of democracy. According to him, the main message of the organization is stability and democratic progress for upcoming elections. “Our organization is able to contribute particular mite in it. We will observe the Presidential in Georgia and it will be the powerful mission. The delegation will arrive prior to the elections, composed of famous MPs, having the relevant experience in Georgia”, - the guest stated. According to him, the Head of OSCE MM will be the one of the main figures, making the statement on behalf of OSCE, CoE, NATO and other missions. The guest also had the meetings with the members of standing parliamentary delegation to OSCE – Victor Dolidze, Giorgi Tsereteli, Zurab Abashidze, Zakaria Kutsnashvili and Akaki Minashvili. He also met with the candidate of UNM to the President, David Bakradze.
