The Committee discussed the legislative initiatives by Tamar Kordzaia and Pridon Sakvarelidze for the first reading – the draft on change to the law on Lobbyist Activity. T. Kordzaia noted that the reason for adoption is the changes to the Constitution of October 15, 2010, subject to enactment upon oath by the newly elected President in 2013. The terms used in the draft shall be taken into accord with the current legislation. The Committee supported submission of the draft to the session. The Committee also considered the issue of registration of the citizen Akaki Chargeishvili as the lobbyist and voted against. Though, he can re-appeal to the Parliament. The Committee was assigned to inspect the authenticity of signatures on dismissal of Karlo Kvitaishvili, the Chair of GNCC. The statement on dismissal of K. Kvitaishvili is signed by 58 MPs. The Committee has already endorsed authenticity of 53 of them. Pridon Sakvarelidze introduced the statement by minority MP, Sergo Ratiani on violations during overriding Presidential veto and demanding re-voting. According to him, MP Marika Verulashvili was absent during the process, though her name is fixed as voted for. As P. Sakvarelidze stated, the documents represent do not confirm attendance/absence of the MP and in this case veto was overridden with enough votes.
