The Speaker, David Usupashvili noted the EPP delegation. The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Foreign Committee, Tedo Japaridze and the Chair of the European Integration Committee, Victor Dolidze. The parties discussed the pre-election political situation and ongoing events. “I am very glad that our European colleagues from EPP are convinced that Georgia goes forward. They confirmed full support on Vilnius Summit for Association Agreement. EPP further supports Georgia for accelerated signing of the document”, - the Speaker noted. According to him, the delegation members had the question about political impartiality of justice, prosecutor’s office and police. “The meeting was very friendly. If we compare the attitude of EPP members with the recent statements, this is quite a different event. This is the result that everyone sees reality. The problems do exist in Georgia but we are eager to solve the problems and everyone sees that we choose Europe”, - he stated. |
