The Committee considered with the first reading the changes to the sundry laws at the sitting chaired by Zviad Kvachantiradze. The drafts by Tedo Japaridze and Ani Mirotadze were introduced by A. Mirotadze. The changes are entailed with the Constitutional changes subject to enact upon oath by the President on 2013 Presidential. The MPs have not expressed any remarks on drafts on Changes to the law on International Agreements of Georgia and on Consular Activity. The questions were raised on the changes to the law on Diplomatic Service. The authors were asked for additional consultations to be held with the Foreign Ministry and Parliamentary Factions. The Committee also discussed establishment of friendship group with Ecuador Parliament. Z. Kvachantiradze introduced the letter by the Foreign Minister, according to which such will is expressed by Ecuadorian MPs. “They have desire to establish friendship groups, which will onset friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries”, - he stated. The Committee approved the issue and the Factions were asked to nominate the candidates. He also introduced the annual report by the Foreign Committee, reflecting the detailed activity by the Committee, 25 sittings, 12 considered drafts and 33 international agreements, 70 conclusions and 370 letters. As Z. Kvachantiradze stated, the draft resolution, developed by the Committee on main directions of foreign policy of Georgia is important. According to him, the fact is noteworthy that the current convocation established the new practice – inviting the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia. The Ambassadors of USA, Switzerland, Israel, Turkey, the Great Britain and France have already delivered the report in the Parliament. |
