The Speaker of the Parliament, David Usupashvili, visiting PACE in Strasbourg, participated in the meeting of ALDE. Upon delivering his speech, he underlined necessity of more close cooperation for EU integration. He expressed his positive expectation that the Association Agreement will be signed at Vilnius Summit. He touched upon the occupation topic and stated that “despite the attempt by Georgia to arrange the relations with Russia and soften rhetoric, there still are new IDPs and this is a great problem, in solution of which the support by the international organizations play the utmost role”. He spoke about the upcoming Presidential and expressed his opinion that it will be demonstration of real democratic progress. According to him, the new Government is ready to assume obligation of transparent elections.
