Sergo Kobuladze is a famous Georgian painter. He was born in
1909 in a small town of Akhaltsikhe - in Meskheti.
S.KObuladze spent his school years in Tbilisi. In 1925
he entered the Academy of Arts in Tbilisi. His teacher was G.
Gabashvili.
In 1930 he graduated from the Academy and was sent to
improve his skills to Moscow and Leningrad. He appeared to becomes one
of the famous artists in illustration graphics.
S. Kobuladze's
illustrations to the "The Knight in the Tiger's Skin" became his
contribution to the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the poem
in 1937. In his illustrations he had shone the specific colorit of
that epoch. Kobuladze's illustrations had extended capabilities of
the Georgian illustration graphics.
