The Chair of the Education and Science Committee, Giorgi Amilakhvari and the First Deputy, Tamar Taliashvili attended the ceremony of the conclusion of the Memorandum in Batumi

The Chair of the Education and Science Committee, Giorgi Amilakhvari and the First Deputy, Tamar Taliashvili participated in the ceremony of signing of the Memorandum in Batumi within the 3-year partnership program of the Government of Norway, UNICEF and the Education and Science Ministry of Georgia.


The signatories of the Memorandum are the UNICEF Resident Representative, Ghassan Khalil and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara AR, Maia Khajishvili.


The Memorandum envisages the establishment of the inclusive educational resource centers (art therapy area) in two schools in Keda and Kobuleti Municipalities as of September 2022, renovation of the adapted infrastructure of the inclusive educational centers in the pilot schools, arrangement of the individual and group educational and recreational zones, and the couching of the pedagogues in the provision of the inclusive educational programs for the children with special educational needs.


According to G. Amilakhvari, the informal educational services shall be provided by the resource center to the children with special needs after school hours.


“The project facilitates the active engagement of the children in the education process and achievement of the improved academic outcomes”, - he added.
