Parliamentary Standing Council of Open Government Endorsing Action Plan

Media and Society 25 May 2023
Parliamentary Standing Council of Open Government Endorsing Action Plan

The Parliamentary Standing Council of Open Government endorsed the 2023-2024 action plan.

The action plan outlines five key obligations to be undertaken: Improving the utilization of recommendations issued by the Parliament as an effective tool and implementing a monitoring system to ensure their proper implementation. Standardizing the structure of annual reports from agencies accountable to the Parliament and establishing clear review procedures for these reports. Publishing video recordings of political debates on the Parliament's website, enhancing transparency and accessibility of parliamentary discussions for the public. Organizing an annual conference focused on current issues related to parliamentary openness and citizen engagement, fostering dialogue and collaboration.

It was also mentioned that the next session of the Council will take place in June, during which deputies responsible for fulfilling these obligations will be identified and assigned.

The Council also endorsed the implementation report of the Open Parliament 4th Action Plan and discussed the new forms of the annual report of the Parliament and reports of committees developed within the framework of the 4th Action Plan of the Open Parliament.
