Givi Mikanadze participated in the sitting of the Open Government Council of Ajara AR Supreme Council

The Chair of the Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council, Givi Mikanadze attended the sitting of the Open Government Council of Ajara AR Supreme Council convened for the ratification of the Action Plan of the Council for 2022-2024.
According to G. Mikanadze, the Plan is a fundamental document promoting the activity of the Ajara Supreme Council, informing the population about the aspects of its activity and envisaging higher civic engagement in this process.
“It is paramount that the initiatives of the civil society are shared in the Action Plan since it is the civil sector that the Council and its Staff shall cooperate in the implementation of the Plan, which is oriented to the active participation of the citizens in the legislative processes upheld by Ajara AR Supreme Council. The Secretary General of the Parliament participated in the development and consideration of the Plan, sharing the experience accumulated in the Parliament. We intend to further cooperate with Ajara AR Supreme Council to ensure maximal efficiency of these projects through our intensive engagement”, - he stated.
He hailed the fact that according to the Chair of Ajara AR Supreme Council and Open Government Council, David Gabaidze, the Council called the competition for the youth “Ideas for the Openness of the Supreme Council”.
“Today, we awarded three winners, which indicates to the fact that the youth is interested considering this process prestigious since their proposals have been shared by the Council not only in the Plan but in its activity and the youth envisions quite proper directions of the enhancement of the civic engagement in the legislative processes. I also welcome the fact that the competition is to be held annually, allowing more youth to participate”, - he added.
