The Members of the Parliamentary Faction "Independent MPs" met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia, Kai Kaarelson.
Georgian MPs introduced the Faction's view of the current political processes and dwelt upon the legislative initiatives that the "Independent MPs" are planning to elaborate on in the spring session of 2020. As the Chair of the Faction, Mariam Jashi noted, Estonia is one of the outstanding partners for Georgia.
“Estonia's experience is important not only in terms of public reforms but also in view of changes to the electoral system. Estonia is one of the countries that is introducing the electoral system through the digital technologies”, - the Chair of the Committee remarked.
The parties exchanged their views regarding the ongoing dialogue on the electoral model.
"As we see the way out of the dialogue at an impasse, today our Faction is to make a new Compromise Proposal regarding the electoral model, envisaging to facilitate the political consensus and lead to proper understanding of each and every politician for public interests other than personal inclinations”, - M. Jashi commented.
