Mariam Lashkhi Attended the Presentation of the New Stage of the “Learn and Work” Program
Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee, attended the presentation of the new stage of the “Learn and Work” program.

“Vocational education is one of the most in-demand fields. It is important that, alongside acquiring knowledge, young people also have the opportunity to apply it. The education reform that Parliament is currently working on is aimed precisely at aligning education with employment, rather than placing them in opposition. A young person studying today should know that a place awaits them tomorrow. The Government of Georgia ensures this through initiatives and programs of this kind, and the ‘Learn and Work’ program proves it not by promise, but by actual results. The city and the state are working toward one goal – to give young people not only knowledge but also opportunity. And when these two forces work together, the result is inevitable”, - Mariam Lashkhi said in her speech.

She added that, through this program, 11,250 people have already been employed.

“11,250 people are not just a statistic; it represents 11,250 families, 11,250 personal stories, 11,250 lives changed, and this is happening right here in our city, in Tbilisi. What is especially important is that the program covers more than 50 professions, from IT to design, from construction to healthcare. This is not a one-size-fits-all solution – it is an answer to the diversity present in our city”, - Mariam Lashkhi said.

It was noted at the event that this year the program will offer nearly 2,000 Tbilisi residents more than 80 high-demand courses completely free of charge, and in addition to state educational institutions, private sector partners have joined as program implementers.

Today, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Tbilisi Municipality and the Georgian Business Association, which outlines cooperation between the parties in the field of educational and professional development.
