Nikoloz Samkharadze Met Deputy National Security Advisor of the United States

As part of his visit to the United States, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze met with Deputy National Security Advisor Andrew Baker.
The main topic of the meeting was the revitalization of Georgian–American relations and the restoration of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
“The meeting was quite engaging. The primary issue was the revitalization of Georgian–American relations and the restoration of the strategic partnership. We discussed the interest and readiness demonstrated by the Georgian side. We also exchanged views on which issues could serve as leading directions for restoring relations”, - Nikoloz Samkharadze stated.
The discussion also addressed security challenges, including developments in Iran and their impact on both Georgia and the South Caucasus region.
One of the key topics was the development of the Middle Corridor and the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Nikoloz Samkharadze emphasized the threats arising from Russia’s occupation of Georgian territories.
“We hope that this meeting and the spirit in which it was conducted will enable us to take successful steps in the future”, - Nikoloz Samkharadze noted.
The meeting was attended by Tamar Taliashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States, and Charles J. McLaughlin IV, Special Assistant to the President of the United States.
Nikoloz Samkharadze, together with the parliamentary delegation, is on an official visit to the United States.
