Nikoloz Samkharadze Met with Congressman Robert Aderholt

Within the framework of his visit to the United States, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, continues holding meetings.
Nikoloz Samkharadze met with Congressman Robert Aderholt, a member of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs and a member of the U.S. delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
“During the meeting, we discussed relations between Georgia and the United States and the willingness to improve these relations”, - stated Nikoloz Samkharadze.
According to him, the congressman expressed interest in the situation in the occupied territories as well as in Georgia’s strategic role in transit and connectivity.
“The congressman was interested in the issues related to occupation and the situation in the occupied regions, on which we provided comprehensive information. We also discussed the threats facing Georgia. We spoke about Georgia’s transit and connectivity function and our strategic role in this regard. We agreed that, as representatives of the parliamentary friendship group, we will actively cooperate in this direction as well. The congressman is also known for his interest in the protection of children’s rights, and we proposed that the Parliament of Georgia and the United States Congress work jointly on these issues”, - said Nikoloz Samkharadze.
The meeting was also attended by a member of the Georgian parliamentary delegation, Lika Shartava and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States, H.E. Tamar Taliashvili.
