MPs Attended Ceremony Marking the Naming of the Mepiskalaki Public School after Ekaterine Gabashvili

The Public School of the village of Mepiskalaki, Kaspi Municipality, has been named after the distinguished Georgian writer and public figure, Ekaterine Gabashvili.
Members of the Parliament of Georgia and representatives of the executive branch participated in the ceremonial event, which was held at the initiative of the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, and the Chair of the Culture Committee, Giorgi Gabunia.
The participants were addressed by the Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Nino Tsilosani, the Chair of the Culture Committee, Giorgi Gabunia, the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi, and the Deputy Education, Science and Youth Minister, Tamar Makharashvili.
In their welcoming remarks, representatives of the Parliament and the executive branch emphasized that naming the school after Ekaterine Gabashvili is an important cultural and educational milestone that will help future generations gain a deeper understanding of the renowned Georgian writer's and educator's literary and educational legacy.
As part of the event, Vice Speaker Nino Tsilosani, Culture Committee Chair Giorgi Gabunia, Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee Chair Mariam Lashkhi, and Deputy Minister Tamar Makharashvili ceremonially unveiled the school's new nameplate and officially opened the Ekaterine Gabashvili Classroom.
The naming of the Mepiskalaki Public School after Ekaterine Gabashvili and the opening of the classroom dedicated to her were held to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the writer's birth.
Among those attending the ceremony were the State Trustee to the Shida Kartli region, Simon Guledani, the Mayor of Kaspi Municipality, Vakhtang Maisuradze, representatives of the local authorities, teachers, students, and Zurab Gabashvili, the great-grandson of Ekaterine Gabashvili.
